About
Melikşah Çakın completed his education at İzmir Dokuz Eylül University, Maltepe University and Istanbul Kent University and specialized in Clinical Psychology.
He currently teaches as a lecturer at Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University and also accepts clients in his own clinic.
He completed his internships at İzmir Dokuz Eylül Medical Faculty Hospital and Uşak Medical Faculty Hospital. He worked at the Academy of Psychology between 2018 and 2022 and took part in various projects.
Some of these projects are: • Psychotherapy coordination for patients and their relatives with the Laughter Heals Association, • Psychotherapy studies with the Turkish Cancer Association, • Corporate collaborations with ING Bank, • Various conferences organized with Malatya Oncology Hospital and Malatya İnönü University.
He took part as a speaker at many universities such as Beykent University, Medipol University, Maltepe University and Bahçeşehir University.In 2019, it established the "Let's Heal Together Psycho-Social Support Team" to support the process management of individuals with chronic diseases and their relatives, especially cancer patients, to protect their well-being and to contribute to the treatment process. He still continues to work with this team. In 2024, he founded the "Let's Heal Together Association" and served as the founding chairman of the board of directors.
In his book The Psychology of Cancer, published in 2022, he shed light on the psychological aspects of chronic diseases and contributed to the academic literature in this field. Additionally, he continues his psychosocial intervention studies in various fields together with the Alois Team, an international team based in Italy. His areas of work include anxiety, trauma, grief, sexual therapy, depression and chronic diseases.
