Hello, I am Psychologist Dr. Gizem Turgut.
After completing my undergraduate education at Bilkent University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Department of Psychology, I continued my academic journey with Maltepe University Social Sciences Institute Industrial and Organizational Psychology master's program. Then, I developed my academic expertise in the field of psychology by completing my master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Okan University Social Sciences Institute and Okan University Graduate Education Institute Applied Psychology Doctorate Program.
In addition to my academic studies, I have taken care to constantly improve my professional competence by participating in many certificate programs in different psychotherapy approaches and psychological evaluation fields. By combining the scientific knowledge I have acquired throughout my education with clinical practices, I offer my clients ethical, trust-based psychological support that is appropriate to individual needs.
My Working AreasIt offers psychological counseling and psychotherapy services for adolescents and adults; I support my clients in many areas, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, relationship problems, family counseling, career counseling, stress management and adaptation to life events.
My Therapy Approaches
In my psychotherapy work, I use scientifically based therapy methods according to the needs of my clients. My main working approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, EMDR, Time-Limited Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Psychodrama. He plans each therapy process according to the individual's needs; I prioritize creating a safe, ethical and compassionate working environment.
My Academic Studies
I started my academic career at Istanbul Arel University, Department of Psychology, as Dr. Lecturer I continue as a member. In addition, I give undergraduate and graduate courses in the psychology departments of various universities and provide thesis consultancy to graduate students in psychology departments.In order to support my professional development, I have completed Autism and Autistic Children's Education, Family Counselling, Play Therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), WISC-IV, Rorschach, Thematic Perception Tests, Neuropsychological Tests, Dynamic Oriented Psychotherapy and various psychological assessment trainings. Thanks to these trainings, I aim to bring together scientific knowledge and clinical practice with a holistic approach.
