Expert Clinical Psychologist Sara Sinem Sozan Akan completed her undergraduate education at Bilkent University, Department of Psychology. During her undergraduate years, she volunteered in various non-governmental organizations such as the Federation of Schizophrenia Associations and actively worked with individuals who needed support in the field of mental health.
Akan, who continued his master's degree at Bilkent University, worked as a research assistant in the Brain Development and Psychosis Laboratory during this period. In his academic studies, he particularly focuses on the emergence processes of psychopathology and the role of genetic risk factors in the development of psychosis. In this context, he successfully completed his master's degree with his thesis titled "The Effect of Covid-19 Infection on Brain Development: Psychosis Proneness and Working Memory".
Akan completed his second master's degree at Ankara Social Sciences University, Social Sciences Institute, Department of Clinical Psychology. He deepened his professional competence by carrying the theoretical infrastructure he acquired during this process into clinical practice.He has also supported his professional development with extensive training on various psychotherapy approaches such as Schema Therapy and Short-Term Solution Focused Therapy.
