Hello, I am Expert Dietitian Melike Pekcan.
I graduated from Kırklareli University, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2018. I completed my master's degree at Istanbul Medipol University in order to improve my professional expertise. I prepared my master's thesis on the topic "Diet Management in Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)". I had the opportunity to share this work as a Poster Tour presentation at the ESPEN 2025 International Congress in Prague. I am also the author of the scientific article titled "Dietary Treatment and Nutritional Supplements as a Treatment Approach in IBS Disease" published in the journal Türkiye Hastanesi.
While I continue my professional work through my own consultancy company, I also offer scientifically based nutrition consultancy to my clients in the field of intestinal health and clinical nutrition as a Functional Medicine Dietitian. He believes that nutrition is one of the key elements that supports not only weight management but also quality of life and overall health; I aim to offer sustainable and personalized solutions to my clients.
My Working AreasI work especially in the fields of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), SIBO (Bacterial Overgrowth in the Small Intestine), nutritional therapy in intestinal and digestive system diseases, Low FODMAP Diet, functional nutrition and intestinal health. I also offer consultancy services on stomach diseases, fibromyalgia, thyroid diseases and personalized nutrition planning.
My Nutrition Approach
In the process I work with my clients, I adopt a holistic approach that focuses not only on the symptoms but also on the underlying causes of the symptoms. I create personalized nutrition plans by combining nutritional treatments based on scientific evidence with a functional medicine perspective. To date, I have provided counseling to hundreds of IBS, IBD and SIBO patients. I continue to share my professional knowledge and experience with wider audiences through the training programs, guides and e-books I prepare.
My Academic StudiesI focus my academic studies especially on intestinal health and nutritional treatments. I presented my master's thesis as a scientific poster at the ESPEN 2025 International Congress. In addition, I contributed to the current literature in the field of intestinal health with my scientific article titled "Dietary Treatment and Nutritional Supplements as a Treatment Approach in IBS Disease" published in the Turkiye Clinics magazine. I aim to raise awareness about intestinal health with my trainings, seminars and the content I prepare.

When necessary, I support the client's evaluation, guidance and follow-up processes with a holistic approach, working in coordination with relevant health professionals with a multidisciplinary approach.
